Urbano offers two pool product options. Concrete pools are available for those wishing to go the commercial grade route. Similar to the pool Urbano recently built for Delta Hotels Ottawa, this industrial approach comes complete with cast-in-place construction and diamond-bright pool plaster for an aggregate finish. Pool liners give way to Dekton, carefully placed on fiberglass reinforced cementitious rubberized membranes. No other company in Canada makes them like this.

For those looking for something more budget-friendly, option two is a Fox pool. As a licensed authorized distributor and installer of Fox, Urbano loves this manufacturer. They supply technical steel epoxy panels that are twice as thick as all other pools we are aware of in the market. And, a rock-solid X-brace system that comes complete with a 50-year manufacturer guarantee. It’s the perfect upscale choice for the most luxurious backyards.

Once you choose an option, the project comes to life. Justin, named one of Ottawa’s Forty Under 40 recipients for pool design 15 years ago, leads you through the creative process, design work, and selecting the dream features. Waterfalls, vanishing edges, integrated hot tubs, flaming side walls, a cantilever cedar deck, and more. And, of course, technology second to none, including state-of-the-art LED lights with mood selection, an automated safety cover, and a self-propelled pool cleaner. All WiFi-controlled by your iPhone.

And the patio area? Natural stones imported from Italy or Spain, Owen Sound limestone, or indestructible porcelain slabs. You choose, you can’t go wrong. Inspired by their own recent experience, the Richard’s stumbled upon a new challenge boating up and down the Rideau this Spring.

Custom Docks
In need of one themselves, and after looking at everything available in the market, they felt something was missing. Sure the fast moving current of the Rideau requires a well-built product with superior stability, but what about architectural design, use of skilled craftsmen and state-of-the-art materials?

They decided to raise the bar for docks and set to work on building something that could truly stand in its own right next to their award-winning builds and renovations. With engineering plans and 3D drawings in hand, a prototype for the first ever Urbano dock was presented for production to a gifted local artisan. Impeccably designed, most probably overengineered, complete with galvanized hardware including one-ton anchors and closed cell (environmentally friendly) polyurethane, the first Urbano dock was launched in May 2023.
